A Shout Out to Katherine Ann

All the head wear in the previous post was kindly and generously provided by one Katie McCollom, a caring and thoughtful friend who not only sent us pieces of an Uncle Sam costume and a USA headband, but also 3 mini American flags, an Amer - I - Can windsock, one red, white, and blue pinwheel, a string of patriotic stars and one home-of-the-free table cloth!  This house was a virtual Yost Lake minus drunken horse shoes, floating bbqs, and turtle races, unfortunately.  However, I was able to provide Texas caviar, burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and apple pie.  Plus, the US Embassy spends a fortune importing fireworks each year to be sure everyone knows that Americans invented freedom, and these fireworks could be seen from our veranda.  Even the sound of "Proud to be an American" floated up the hill to our ears.  USA is A-OK.  And Katherine Ann is even better. Thank you, Katie for sending a piece of home to me and making my Forth of July grand.

Also, I'd like to send you a BIG BIRTHDAY GREETING! I hope you are able to spend the day in a fancy hat, watching Naked Boys Singing, visiting not-the-best farmer's market, mirror dancing at your favorite club, all the while listening to "When You Wish Upon A Star" whistled by E-Rock Adventure and clutching the Christmas Ass.

I Love You.
